ANNO 2050 – Dystopia and hope?
«Anno 2050 – what are we going to eat in the future?» – A SCI-FI PERFORMANCE IN A SHELTER:
In a currently secret location in Ålesund, Høstscena, in collaboration with The Cultural Schoolbag Møre og Romsdal, will invite you to a science fiction. As a dystopian vision in the near future, the performance deals with depletion of food soil, insect death and mass extinction of animal and plant life. The audience are the survivors of a catastrophe that has paralyzed conventional food production, and in the performance we are asked the question of what we are now going to survive on. As part of the performance, the audience will be served an alternative and very exclusive menu: The team behind the project is in the process of planning it – they ferment, dry and pickle vegetables. Edible flowers, berries, plants and insects are collected. Bark, cone shoots and sap are also among the ingredients. From the shore they find seaweed and kelp, snails, shells, sea urchins and jellyfish. Everything will be served to us during the performance. In Anno 2050, the disaster is staged, and the audience will be faced with experiences they must decide on and put into words. The goal is to give the audience a sense of drive and hope for the future.
