18 hours a day

We all need to be reminded of our history, to relive a little bit of the lives of those who went before us – simply to know where we come from!
In the performance 18 HOURS DAY, we look back to the 80s – more specifically 1984. Astrid Overaae, Lasse Larsson Fjørtoft and a number of other dignitaries from Ålesund – take us on a city walk through a ¾ day from early morning to midnight.
We meet people on their way to work and to unemployment, young and old, we meet those who decide and those who scatter sand on the committees – all told with the Ålesund nerve, and definitely with a love for the city and the people here.
The performance offers a great musical range, from rock to blues to ballads, and all lyrics and music are made by Lasse Larsson Fjørtoft. The concert will be led by «time witness» Petter Drabløs, who guides us through the time it is told about. It all takes place, of course, in the soul of the city: Teaterfabrikkem in Ålesund.

18 HOURS DAY was first set up in 1984 in the Fagerliaula, to be resumed when the newly opened Worker was completed in 1988. Now it reappears 30 years later, and with that we in Høstscena will pay tribute to the replay, and perhaps dwell a little on the story in a time where the seconds go ever faster.
