THEATRE
SAY SOMETHING
SAY SOMETHING premiered in 2011 and was originally made as a performance for adults in collaboration with four professional dancers. In 2014, the performance was reworked into a performance for children and families performed by a children’s choir.
SAY SOMETHING is a 30-minute song and movement work, inspired by Janet Cardiff’s installation The Forty-Part Motet. The work examines group behavior and conformity and was developed in collaboration with the composer Sylvia Hallett. The performance is interactive in the sense that the choir mixes with the audience, divides into groups and throws itself around with song and sounds above, below and around the audience as they move among them. The audience has the freedom to participate and together with the choir they participate and influence the work.
