Author and musician Bård Torgersen, and musician Dario Fariello, work in the borderland between text and music, and between concert and performance. The expression consists of traditional text, and text that is stripped of semantic meaning, to mixtures of text, music and sound. Central to the work is improvisation. In Avholdshjemmet, the duo collaborates with visual artist Marius Engh. Expect a performance that stretches for 24 hours towards Wagner’s gesamtkunstwerk, Cabaret Voltaire, and the almost forgotten Norwegian authors Sigurd Mathiesen and Sissel Solbjørn Bjugn.

DARIO FARIELLO is a saxophonist and violinist who works with. He studied music at the University of Bologna, where he helped form the Bologna Improvisers Orchestra and the record company Eclectic Polpo Records. Fariello moved to Berlin in 2011 to work with musicians Tristan Honsinger and Eren Ileri. He was one of the founders of Multiversal, a nomadic festival that presented a large international network of improvisational music and noise. Dario is now based in Oslo, and currently collaborates with ZGB, Bård Torgersen, Harald Fetveit, Thiébault Imm, Antti Virtaranta, Ina Sagstuen, Øyvind Hellner, Espen Ursin, Håkon Lie, Stefan Voglsinger, Alexander Chernyshkov, and Marina Poleukhina. Together with Norbert Stammberger, he organizes the Tubax Super Session festival in Munich, the dedicated tubax saxophone and other special instruments.

BÅRD TORGERSEN is a musician, poet and author. In the early 1980s, he was a central figure in Oslo’s musical subculture. In the 1990s, he became one of the pioneers of the Norwegian electronic music scene. He has later, alone and in collaboration with others, released a number of albums, which explore the boundaries between literature and music. In 2005, Torgersen made his debut with the novel Alt skal vekk. Torgersen has been published in Spain, the Netherlands and England, and has toured and performed, as a speaker and with musical projects, in Norway, Europe and Japan. Bård Torgersen’s ninth novel, Vær stille, will be published in the autumn of 2022.

MARIUS ENGH is a visual artist who works with different media that summarize different stages of his research of history, anthropology, modernism and social semiotics. His works have been exhibited at home and abroad, and are currently relevant with Dagene og Nettene, Ørland Airport, Trøndelag, and Hermopolis, the Customs Directorate, Oslo, where both are made in collaboration with KORO – Art in public spaces Norway; the new National Museum’s permanent exhibitions; Broken Open, a group exhibition by Luis Adelantado, Valencia; and upcoming solo exhibitions this year at Van Etten, Oslo; Santolarosa, Oslo and VEDA, Florence.
